Following the great successes of IAT'01, IAT'03, IAT'04, IAT'05 and IAT'06, we are excited to propose Silicon Valley as the site for the 2007 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Intelligent Agent Technology (IAT 2007), to be jointly held with the 2007 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence (WI 2007), and we are confident that this high tech hub will be able to host IAT 2007 with great success. IAT 2007 is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Intelligent Informatics (TCII), the Web Intelligence Consortium (WIC), and ACM-SIGART. Holding IAT 2007 in the heart of the high tech world will provide special opportunities for collaboration between research scientists and engineers.

IAT 2007 will provide a leading international forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse fields, such as computer science, information technology, business, education, human factors, systems engineering, and robotics, to (1) examine the design principles and performance characteristics of various approaches in intelligent agent technology, and (2) increase the cross-fertilization of ideas on the development of autonomous agents and multi-agent systems among different domains. By encouraging idea-sharing and discussions on the underlying logical, cognitive, physical, and sociological foundations as well as the enabling technologies of intelligent agents, IAT 2007 will foster the development of novel paradigms and advanced solutions in agent-based computing.

Highlights

IAT'07 will be co-located with the 2007 IEEE/ACM/WIC International Conference on Web Intelligence (WI'07), the 2007 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing (GrC'07) and the 2007 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM'07 ) The conference will take place in Silicon Valley, the center of high tech and web technology. Attendance will be open, although attendance is expected to be primarily authors of papers accepted at the conference or co-located workshops. We do expect significant attendance from high tech industry workers, given that Silicon Valley is such an important center for web development. We will consider both whole and partial registration fees to meet the needs of different participants. On November 3, 2007 , there will be joint keynote session and industry session. Parallel track meeting sessions, with no more than four parallel sessions. Each day, either in the morning (before parallel meeting sessions begin) or during the lunch hour, there will be a keynote presentation (plenary session) to all in attendance. Some keynote presentations will be held jointly with the IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence (WI 2007). All papers will be included in proceedings published by IEEE press, as well as publication in the IEEE digital library.
