Data Mining has been developed, though vigorously, under rather ad hoc and vague concepts. The goal of study Foundations of Data Mining is to laying sound foundations for Mining and Discovery, shaping new data mining paradigms, seeking solutions to long standing data mining problems, and stimulating new data mining research directions.

The central objective in this workshop is to explore various fundamental issues of data mining and foster the study of data mining as a scientific field.

Both data mining researchers and practioners are welcome to submit orignial and high quality papers on relevant topics in the field of data mining.
